SEED Initiative, a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy, is acceptingapplications for SEED Awards 2014. The award is open for innovative ideas from any enterprise in a developing country or country in transition, which is working in partnership with others to generate economic, environmental and social benefits.

What is the Prize?
The recipients are awarded the access to knowledge, expertise and networks. They receive a package of individually tailored support for their enterprises.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Proposals must demonstrate entrepreneurship and innovation; and deliver economic, social and environmental benefits.
- Proposed projects must have intention and potential to become financially sustainable.
- Proposed project must be a partnership between different stakeholder groups.
- Proposed project must be locally driven or locally led.
- Project must have potential for scale up or significant replication.
- The project must be in the early stages of implementation.
- Project must be in a country with a developing or emerging economy.
For SEED Low Carbon Awards, the project must make significant contributions to mitigating and/or adapting to climate change.
For SEED Gender Equality Award, the project must be run or owned by a woman or women and prioritize gender equality and/or women’s empowerment as a core objective.
